International Day of Tolerance

Today is International Day for Tolerance, a global movement started in 1996 by the United Nations to strengthen tolerance by fostering mutual understanding among cultures and peoples. Every two years, the UN rewards individuals, organizations, or institutions for significant activities aimed at the promotion of a spirit of tolerance and non-violence. At our school and in our families, we respect and appreciate the rich variety of our world’s cultures, our forms of expression and ways of being human. So, we encourage you to check out the UN’s International Day for Tolerance site to see the current prize winner and let us know if you have an idea for a tolerance project.
