let’s talk about…

Many parents and caregivers worry that talking to their children about high-risk behavior will introduce them to new ideas or damage their innocence. More and more young people are introduced to risky things at earlier ages. Do you want them to find out about them via the internet or a friend at school? Be the one who informs and empowers kids to protect their growing brain!

tier 1 resources

To consistently reduce high-risk behavior and create healthy norms in your school community, use the Know Your Neuro video series or other universal (Tier 1) prevention activities weekly or monthly to engage all students, staff, and families.

host a family code workshop

As a universal (Tier 1) prevention activity, host a Family Code Workshop using the tools from Dr. Collier's parent guide including an editable flyer, powerpoint, and workshop guide.

For students with at-risk or low protective factors, use Know Your Neuro videos as a selective (Tier 2) individual or group intervention on a weekly or monthly basis, on or off-campus.

To treat or prevent continuation of substance abuse or behavioral health issues, require completion of an indicated High-Risk Series (Tier 3) on-campus either daily or weekly for students and/or families.

Students struggling to maintain adherence to school codes of conduct due to high-risk or problem behavior may need a higher level of care or to participate in indicated (Tier 4) services on or off-campus.
