Stress occurs when we care about something but, it may cause tension, pressure, discomfort or amped feelings. Stress can help motivate, but can also exhaust the body and interfere with performance. Stress increases cortisol which dampens the effect of dopamine which, in turn, may trigger risky behaviors.
